How to draw inside an object | Illustrator 2022

You can use Draw Inside mode to draw inside a rectangle, ellipse, polygon or any other shape.

Select drawing modes from the Tools panel (keyboard shortcut: Shift + D):

You can cut an artwork (Ctrl + X) then select an artwork you want to draw inside, select Draw Inside mode => Paste (Ctrl + V).
